Ego vs. Self
Understanding the distinction between the Ego Personality and the Authentic Self is the foundation of the entire Emotional X-Rays framework. Everything else — the Low Road, the High Road, the Map of Consciousness — flows from this single insight.
Truth and Illusion
In the Map of Consciousness, energy calibrations of 200 and above reflect elements and emotions that are life-supporting and embody Truth. Truth is unchanging and permanent. By contrast, energy levels of 199 and lower represent the realm of Illusion — where the Ego Personality, with its accumulation of beliefs, assumptions, and judgements, stubbornly defends the righteousness of whatever position it takes.
Light and Darkness
Modern science has come to realize there is no actual thing called darkness — only Light is real. Degrees of darkness are only states of diminished light. Illusion, likewise, is only a state of diminished Truth.
Heat and Cold
A thermometer measures levels of diminished heat. There is no actual thing as coldness — only the absence of warmth. In the same way, the ego's world of separation and fear is not a reality unto itself, but an absence of the Authentic Self's light.
The Shifting Nature of Belief
What we once thought was true as a child, a teenager, or an adult changes as we stay humble and open-minded to learn more. In less enlightened times it was once believed that everything revolved around the Earth and not the Sun. The Ego believes that everything should revolve around it — hence the many faces of personal narcissism.
The Two Identities Side by Side
The Ego Personality and the Authentic Self are not two equal forces in competition. One is a temporary construction; the other is your permanent nature. The Low Road emotions arise from the Ego's grip; the High Road opens as that grip loosens.
Escaping the Gravitational Pull
Escaping the downward magnetic pull of the Lower Octave energies takes steadfast inner work. Like a rocket escaping Earth's gravity, the effort required to reach the energetic emotional fields of Level 200 opens up the enlightened vistas of the Authentic Self and Universal Consciousness.
